Hi there! I graduated with my Masters in Social Work and have been providing psychotherapy since 2009. The majority of my work has been in outpatient community mental health clinics so I have experience helping people with a wide range of personal and relationship problems, mental health disorders, and co-occurring substance use disorders. My heart has always been drawn to helping people that have experienced trauma and other hurtful life experiences. In the early days of my training it was taught that people could use therapy to improve their lives and learn to cope with their illness, however I have professional and lived experience to know that true healing is possible. I have trained in psychotherapy methods that are highly effective in developing the skills to manage symptoms as well as heal them. I also know the value that energy healing and other complimentary or alternative medicine services can add when coupled with the traditional methods. I am a certified reiki master and also a student of shamanic energy medicine. If you are interested in these forms of healing but maybe want to learn more, please feel free to ask questions.
